What Is Spontaneous Motion?
It is the inspired uprising of your Life Force as it respectfully moves you from the depths of Stillness and deposits you safely into a state of intimate knowing of embodiment, aliveness, and health…

…a knowing that goes beyond the thinking mind and is felt as revitalizing and rejuvenating.
You are invited to gently take a conscious step towards enhancing your physical well-being and spiritual growth with Spontaneous Motion.
How Was It Developed?
I have developed this style of movement out of my own personal practice of Kripalu Yoga, a gentle form of yoga that focuses on the inherent wisdom and divinity of the body.
I was influenced by many different kinds of energy exercises: Kripalu Yoga, Polarity Yoga, Zen Shiatsu, Tibetan Rites, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Authentic Movement, Rolfing Movement, Brain Gym, Cranial Integration, and structural alignment.
What appeals to me is not the practices themselves, but what arises spontaneously out of the Stillness after the practices are completed.
Deep Relaxation and Restoration
I began to notice that if I were to lay still long enough after these energy exercises, a whole new movement spontaneously would arise out of me.
Somehow it would quiet my “monkey mind” and would be exactly the movements my body/spirit needed to free up some lack of fluidity or range of motion in my system.
I always felt deeply relaxed and magically rejuvenated no matter how long or short this spontaneous motion lasted.
How Is It Practiced?
Spontaneous Motion is basic and simple to learn to access in class format. You are gently guided through a flow of basic breathing exercises, simple energy exercises, and then into stillness where this spontaneous movement can be accessed.
Then I recommend a daily practice for as long as it is still fun and gentle; this could be less than 10 minutes or as long as you like.
